School Profile
St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy has been shaping the minds and developing the character of young men since 1884. Academy alumni have attended notable colleges and universities. As a college preparatory and leadership development boarding and day school for young men in grades 6 through 12, St. John's Northwestern provides a distinctive educational experience for its cadets that focuses on academic success, athletics, leadership development and values. Surrounded by English gothic-style architecture, broad lawns and towering trees, cadets living within the 110-acre campus are immersed in a safe and secure environment in which they build self-esteem, self-discipline, academic focus and intellectual curiosity that allows them to "work hard, play hard, pray hard."
St. John's Northwestern offers a focused curriculum in the areas of English, mathematics, science, computer applications, social studies, foreign language and leadership training. To accommodate all cadets in the Corps, each of these courses are offered at three levels: college preparatory, advanced and honors. The required courses are supplemented by a variety of electives that include a full range of fine arts electives.
