For the fourth consecutive year pupils at The Cathedral School, Llandaff have achieved outstanding GCSE results. Overall the percentage of exams passed with A* or A Grade was an astonishing 67%, whilst 73.5% of the pupils gained 5 or more A* and A's, a record for our School. 98% of pupils achieved 5 or more A* to C grades. Two pupils gained a complete set of A*s, having sat 10 and 12 GCSE's respectively. In the last four years we have been consistently been placed in the top three or four schools out of 250 in Wales.

Mr Gray, Headmaster, commented “our pupils have worked extremely hard and due to this high level of commitment they have achieved excellent results. Congratulations go to all pupils and to the staff for their inspiration and guidance.

Yet these excellent results are not our only goal. They are a part of our policy of striving for excellence in all things in an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for others.

Our Nursery, situated in picturesque grounds, is where it all starts. This enjoyable and happy learning environment continues in the Infants and Juniors, where a well-structured curriculum provides the opportunity to sample diverse opportunities alongside the traditional subjects. This leads to an all round education which puts the building blocks in place for future success in the Senior section of the School.

The School has a strong tradition in Music (ten choirs and over twenty instrumental groups including orchestras, bands and small chamber ensembles) and Drama flourishes with regular, ambitious productions.

Sport is extremely strong, with a wide variety of opportunities for both boys and girls as well as an excellent record of success in terms of results at all levels. The range of after-school activities is exceptional and pupils benefit enormously from the many talents of the teaching staff and other experts who support our dedicated team.

Above all, however, The Cathedral School is a very happy place set in magnificent grounds with superb facilities. Pupils are encouraged to look after one another in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust, and the School provides a strong moral and spiritual education firmly based on Christian principles.Further information on Private Schools »
