Champlain Valley Independent School (CVIS) is an independent (private) school for grades K through 8 in southern Chittenden County, Vermont, south of Burlington.

Opening in phases beginning in 2008, Champlain Valley Independent School will promote a commitment to life-long environmental responsibility by incorporating ecology, sustainability education and conservation principles throughout its program, an effort captured in the School's motto "green school, green future." In so doing it hopes to become the greenest school in Vermont, and one of the top twenty greenest in the nation.

In addition, Champlain Valley Independent School will provide an outstanding education whose hallmarks include: a balanced curriculum strong in math, science, language arts, fine arts, foreign language, ethics, athletics, and social skills; a safe, nurturing environment in which children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally; small classes that enable teachers to really know each child; differentiated instruction that challenges every child, and high standards for excellence.
