School Profile

Development International School first opened its doors for students in 2005, offering a bilingual education to boys and girls at the elementary level. We offer classes to students starting from Pre-School up to Grade 10 the school will continue to add a grade each year up to Grade 12. Our mission is nothing short of providing the best, most comprehensive English education in the Middle East. We have set our standards high to ensure a robust educational environment that nurtures children and encourages them to reach their full potential.

The English curriculum uses American textbooks and meets the required American standards for academic assessment starting from Pre-School up to Grade 6 and British curriculum with IGCSE from Grade 7 up to Grade 10. We have grown to a staff of more than 50 and have an enrollment exceeding 250. Although our growth has been swift, we still insist on upholding the strongest Academic standards. We are in the process of applying for 1B accreditation.

Children attend school from 7:15 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. The students also have P.E. 1-2 times a week, along with computer, art and library. Teamwork is critical and important to our school.

Each week there is activity day for all students along with monthly themes we have a fun, educational activity with the children, such as Culture Day, Orphan Day, Sports Day, Science Day, and Language Day.

We promote to the curriculum by way of encouraging the children to be more creative and doing some fun activities Our Curriculum includes Math, Science, Art, P.E., Language Arts, Arabic Culture, Social Studies, Arabic, French, Computers and Islamic Studies.

The administration is set-up in a way that encourages DIS students to be creative and to thrive in their environment and learn from each other. Sharing, caring respect, and teamwork are elements of practice that we promote to all members of DIS, that includes administration, teachers, student, and parents.

As the school continues to grow, this organization will change to accommodate the future needs of the share.
