The Baskerville Hall Hotel is privately owned, an independent hotel with emphasis on character and customer service. The House was Built 1839 by Thomas Mynors Baskerville for his second wife Elizabeth. The Baskervilles were related to the Dukes of Normandy and first came to Britain to help William the Conqueror in 1066.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a family friend who often came here to stay. During his many visits he learnt of the local legend of the hounds of the Baskervilles. It is reputed that on nearby Hergest Ridge he transcribed this into probably the most famous case of his well-known detective Sherlock Holmes. However at the request of the Baskerville family he set his book in Devon to 'ward off tourists'.

Your journey into the 19th century begins at the main entrance to the Hotel which hosts a dramatic sweeping staircase stairs lead up to the first floor executive styles rooms. Baskerville Hall is unique with its various types of accommodation. The hotel has five differing standards of accommodation, with camping making the sixth.
The hotel lends itself to a whole number of groups, clubs and schools as well as individuals and families.

If group accommodation is what you require or your budget is paramount then dormitories holding up to 60 people may be the answer? In three different sizes ranging from four to sixteen beds, all with en-suit bathrooms.

The hotel is then divided into budget, standard and executive style rooms. Budget style rooms offer an inexpensive double or twin room. The standard rooms some with superb views increase in size and are located on our top floor. Then the executive styles rooms, some of which may include a four-poster bed, circular baths and unique styling. All these rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone and colour televisions.

We are fortunate enough to have one of the best activity playgrounds on our door step, The Black Mountain and Brecon Beacon National park.
