We believe we are a leading school because at Wycliffe we focus on individual learning as the route to success, Wycliffe is committed to helping all students achieve their own academic potential. We offer a very broad curriculum, mixing traditional and modern programmes of study
Wycliffe is a day, boarding and flexi-boarding school for boys and girls aged from 2 to 18 years and is conveniently set within the heart of the Cotswolds; the school has excellent links to London both by road and rail and is close to the amenities offered in Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath. Wycliffe is an ideal destination for pupils who want all the advantages of a contemporary environment in a beautiful rural location.
Wycliffe is committed to fostering individual learning in all areas of the curriculum and pupils benefit from small class sizes with a high teacher to pupil ratio. One of Wycliffe's aims is to cultivate each pupil's unique talents and bring out the best in its pupils by creating a supportive learning environment which promotes individual achievements in all fields. Specialist teachers ensure outstanding teaching delivery across the curriculum and a wide variety of co-curricular activities enables the school to offer a fully-rounded education designed to develop confidence and self-esteem.
The School offers an outstanding range of facilities and activities, including
a state-of-the-art library, and classrooms providing universal access to IT
resources and all equipped with interactive whiteboards. There has been
considerable investment in boarding and medical provision in the last few
years; all older boarding houses have been refurbished and upgraded to satisfy
modern boarding expectations of quality and space. Each house has its own
kitchen, common rooms with television, DVD and full internet access. Boarders
have evening and weekend access to all the school's facilities, including the
medical centre which is open for 24-hour care, and enjoy a full range of
programmed weekend activities, not least shopping and spending time with their friends!
Academic excellence is something pupils are encouraged to attain and the fact that some of our pupils have been registered with the National Programme for Gifted and Talented in Education, attests to the high-achieving nature of many of our students and the school's ability to nurture this. Wycliffe recently became the only school in the UK to win the NACE Challenge Award for Excellence in teaching the gifted and talented across every one of the six stages of education- from pre-prep to A level, and is the first Independent School in the country to collect this award.
For the sixth year in succession, the pass rate at A level was 100%, with over 60% of our pupils achieving A to B grades over the same period. Wycliffe is not academically selective yet the GCSE pass rate is also high, with 90% of pupils gaining A* to C grades. There are over 27 subjects available at AS level including Theatre Studies, Media Studies, Travel and Tourism, Psychology and Japanese.
