Windlesham is one of the country's leading IAPS co-educational day and boarding preparatory schools for children aged 4 to 13.
Turning into the driveway at Windlesham is a captivating moment. The view is hard to beat or to forget. Spend time among the children and staff and one can
sense their friendly, informal and open relationships, a school where children are valued as people.
Having fun is an essential ingredient of life at Windlesham House. The school achieves this in the classroom, on the sports field, through music and drama, as well as from a choice of more than 250 activities, from rug-making to wind-surfing.
Windlesham helps its children to succeed, to grow in confidence and to have the courage to try out new things. Each day is full, varied and active, where children become aware that there has to be a balance between work, rest and play.
Children develop a strong moral sense at Windlesham. This is central to their education and their school life, backed by clear, consistent messages. These are reinforced by beautiful surroundings, the Chapel, school assemblies, House tutor group meetings, Religious Studies lessons, one-to-one sessions with Houseparents or tutors, and in the children's daily dealings with each other.
Pupils grow in confidence and self-esteem because their contributions in different fields are valued and encouraged. Windlesham respects the child, avoids unnecessary regimentation and, for example, has a dress code rather than a school uniform.
