Funded by the Government's Music and Dance Scheme the nine MADE schools (Music and Dance Excellence) of England and Scotland aim to identify and assist children with exceptional potential between the ages of 8 and 19, to benefit from world class specialist training as part of a broad and balanced education, which will enable them, if they choose, to proceed towards careers in Music and Dance.
Artists of the future need opportunity as well as innate ability. These specialist schools offer means-tested places which are awarded solely on musical or dance potential. Between them MADE schools offer 800 government-aided places, with pupils receiving up to full funding. MADE schools enjoy a reputation as the most aspirational places to go for the most talented musicians and dancers.
MADE schools are all distinct in size and character but they all foster talent. They are unique communities, offering access to excellence, to the very best specialist training available and to stimulating and challenging opportunities.
MADE schools value their academic standards.
