The Senior School of St Albans High School for Girls is to be found close to the centre of
St Albans in Townsend Avenue, whilst our Primary School is a short distance away in the delightful village of Wheathampstead.
Our provision is highly academic, yet with a strong emphasis on personal development. We aim to make education a challenging and positive experience in which each girl can acquire confidence and self-esteem and to prepare girls for the challenges of the 21st century in a changing society where the role of women is still being defined.
We are a Christian school but warmly welcome girls from all faiths or no faith. We encourage each girl to achieve of her best and we place much importance on the girls’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, indeed our last inspection described our pastoral care as an outstanding feature of the school.
Girls receive exceptional results in national tests and examinations. Teaching in each subject area is well supported by a range of high quality resources which make a significant impact on pupils’ learning.
However, we do not have a philosophy of all work and no play! Your daughter will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities and numerous trips and visits, at home and abroad, to support her learning and enrich her experience of the world around her.
Please do come to one of our Open Mornings or contact us for a personal visit to see the school in action.
