Education at The Prep is for life, not just the classroom. We promote curiosity of mind, independence of spirit and a love of learning. We pride ourself in not being a pushy hot house and endeavour to achieve the all round experience.
Each child is an individual and is treated as such. Our children are prepared for entry into the right school for them and not pushed in a certain direction for the benefit of league tables. As the children move through the school they are offered opportunities for responsibility and leadership, which enable them to move on in life with confidence and self-reliance.
The school provides an excellent academic programme and we have developed an enviable reputation for the academic performance of our pupils. We are justifiably proud of our record at 11+, 13+ an scholarship entry to independent day and boarding schools, the local grammar schools and international schools.
Heads of our destination schools regularly tell me that Prep children arrive ready for their new environment, with the right attitudes and quite often ahead of their peers socially and in their approach to academic study.
Our extensive grounds not only provide excellent facilities, but also encourage play and exploration and throughout the school participation is encouraged in a varied spectrum of extra curricular activities.
