Moorfield School prides itself on its academic excellence and friendly, caring atmosphere,especially for girls. It has a strong 'family' feel and lays particular emphasis on consideration for others in both in and beyond the school community. Independence and individuality are encouraged and confidence nurtured.
High standards of literacy and numeracy are the academic bedrock enabling all girls to enter well-respected senior schools at 11+.Success is also achieved in music, art,drama and sport with girls participating in a wide variety of local events. An all-round broad curriculum is followed with a specialist teaching in small classes. Excellent facilities include a purpose-built nursery unit, which gives the girls a seamless education from rising 2 years, and a fully equipped IT suite and many specialist subject rooms. A full range of extra-curricular activities enables each girl to develop her interests; pre and after school care help busy families make the most of each day.
Bursaries and Scolarships are available and we also participate in the Nursery Grant Scheme.
Moorfield is an Educational Charitable Trust for girls aged 2 - 11 and a full member of IAPS. Accommodated in a large house, the school is situated in a beautiful setting on the edge of Ilkley Moor.
We are a Green Flag School.
