Moira House will provide an excellent all-round education, which will encourage each individual pupil to attain her highest academic, artistic, musical, social, and sporting potential in a friendly, happy yet purposeful community, which is multi-cultural with a Christian foundation, in a safe and caring environment.
Moira House has always placed a high value on the individual, an ethos underpinned by our belief that the environment of an all-girls school provides an ideal atmosphere for nurturing the talents and needs of young women.
Our academic results have consistently placed us amongst the best schools, both locally and nationally, with many girls exceeding their expectations.
From their earliest years, pupils are encouraged to explore the huge range of educational opportunities available to them, to excel within realistic expectations and to discover individual strengths through an extensive programme of sporting, cultural and social activities.
Moira House girls are valued as individuals and the size of our community makes it possible for every teacher to know every girl and to be aware of her individual strengths and weaknesses.
Close links between home and school are fostered and great emphasis is placed on pastoral care and personal growth. In this supportive, secure and happy atmosphere our girls flourish.
We have excellent transport routes with Central London: 1 ½ hours by train from Eastbourne station. Girls can be collected by minibus from the station and we do offer weekly boarding when girls may travel home on Friday evening and return on a Monday morning, if they wish.
We have 5 very busy teaching days with lessons taught until 5.15pm. We offer some 120 plus activities throughout the week which range from rock climbing to jewellery making and we offer a full programme of extra curricular activities throughout the weekend for our full time boarders.
