Merchant Taylors' is an independent boys' day school of more than 800 students. Taylors' is well-known for the high academic and sporting standards our boys achieve, but also for its warm, friendly atmosphere and our boys' support for each other and commitment to their community. In the most recent government league tables MTS was 5th best boys' school in the country, which reflects the incredible hard work and enthusiasm shown by all our boys and teachers.
The boys enjoy superb facilities and a fantastic campus: 250 acres of lakes and countryside where Middlesex, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire meet, with over 55 acres devoted to sport. Yet the school is just 25 minutes from central London on the Metropolitan line and 10 minutes from both the M1 and M25. Many boys do come from our immediately surrounding areas: Northwood, Pinner and Rickmansworth. Yet many more travel in from as far afield as central London and on coaches from Ealing, Radlett, Beaconsfield, Harrow, Mill Hill and Stanmore. Charitable Status Chris Woodhead, Chairman of Cognita, has said that parents paying to privately educate their children are being ripped off as UK independent schools waste money on "frills and frippery". He also urged schools to give up their charitable status to become wholly profitmaking organisations. What do you think? |
