School Profile
Since its opening over twenty years ago Longridge Towers School has become the leading independent school in Northumberland. Situated between Newcastle and Edinburgh, the school benefits from the cultural opportunities of the two cities yet still enjoys a largely rural setting in the unspoilt Northumbrian countryside.
At Longridge education is offered to boys and girls from ages 4-18: although many pupils commute daily from the surrounding area, a well-established boarding house caters for those from further afield and abroad. The size of the school enables each pupil to be treated as an individual and develop their talents not only in the classroom but also on the sports field, and in the many extra-curricular activities that are on offer.
Longridge has a great sense of community that comes from a mixture of boarding and day pupils, a curriculum that offers academic depth and extra-curricular breadth, and a pastoral system based on mutual respect between staff and pupils. This combination makes it the kind of school that pupils enjoy attending and one that inspires trust and confidence in parents.
