School Profile
Lambrook Haileybury is a co-educational day and boarding school for children aged from 3-13 years old. At three a child will enter our nursery, Westfield Saplings, which has now been running for over a year and has proved enormously successful with its friendly and stimulating atmosphere. At four they move up into the Pre Prep Department where the emphasis is on discovery and fun as well as foundation teaching. At seven they move into the Junior Department in the main school building, here they can add flexi boarding to their experiences amongst many other things. At nine they become immersed into the middle school with the addition of Saturday mornings when we run a comprehensive extra curricular activity programme.
As well as academic excellence, our aim is to provide an all round education: this of course includes self-discipline, enthusiasm and pride in the learning process. We look to ensure thoughtfulness, good manners and respect for others. Our boarding is fun, friendly and extremely flexible and at no stage is it compulsory. At the heart of the school's success is its system for pastoral care; at the top of the school children work closely with a tutor to ensure they make the most of their talents and the opportunities for them at the school. Critically we focus on ensuring our children move on to senior school as confident and articulate independent learners.
The children who attend Lambrook Haileybury receive excellent teaching in all key subjects including English, Maths, Science, French, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Design Technology, Latin and Greek where appropriate, as well as Sport, Art and Music. Our results are impressive with children getting into their first choice senior school. Last year scholarships were won to Wellington, Charterhouse, Queen Anne's Caversham and Marlborough and as well as two boys who went to Eton in 2006 being awarded OS scholarships for consistently high standards of work. All children play sport at least 4 times a week. The atmosphere is bubbly and fun as well as warm and professional with a large cross section of pupils from many different walks of life.
The school is set within 43 acres of fabulous grounds which include a 9-hole golf course, astroturf surface, sports hall and swimming pool. It is situated close to Ascot so approximately 40 minutes from central London. We run buses on several routes including London. If all this sounds too good to be true then please do come and visit and let us show you around so you can make up your own mind and see for yourself what the school can offer to you and your family.
