Visitors at Guildford High School are immediately struck by the friendly, vibrant purposeful atmosphere. Our prospectus states that, 'Girls at Guildford High School learn how to learn, how to think creatively and how to take responsibility for their work' and this ethos is evident in all activities within the school. All senior pupils study Philosophy and Critical Thinking and junior pupils follow an exciting Thinking Skills programme. Pupils are taught how to think and not what to think. They are committed to studying their chosen subjects; they are prepared to take intellectual risks and they can use a range of skills to develop arguments. They develop into well-informed, open and independent minded individuals.
