Colfe's is one of the oldest schools in London. The parish priest of Lewisham founded it in 1494. It was re-founded in 1652 and named after Abraham Colfe, Vicar of Lewisham.
Pupils travel to the school from all parts of London but there is a strong sense of community. The School's emphasis is on sound learning and academic achievement.
Since the days of Abraham Colfe there has been a strong link with the Leathersellers' Company, one of the oldest of London's Livery Companies.
