School Profile
Caldicott is one of the leading preparatory schools in the country, preparing boys for Scholarship and Common Entrance to Eton, Harrow, Radley, Marlborough, Wellington, Winchester and other top public schools.
The main living parts of the school are located in an imposing Victorian house which gives the school its homely feel. Impressive new buildings have been built around it to give the boys excellent facilities. In 2004 the Centenary Hall was completed to provide a wonderful theatre for drama and music. Common rooms have recently been refurbished, all classrooms re-equipped with the latest teaching aids, and the new Science Block will open in January 2008.
Although central London is only 20 miles away the school has a distinctly rural feel, possessing over forty acres of beautiful and magnificent playing fields. Situated next to Burnham Beeches, the school is located conveniently between the M4 and M40 with easy access to Heathrow, Oxford and central London. The daily bus services from West London and Notting Hill mean that it is possible for those parents who wish to live in London to educate their sons as day boys in a traditional country prep school, before they come in to board when they are older.
Caldicott combines the best of modern facilities with the proven values of a traditional education - good manners, high academic expectations, competitive team sports, healthy food served at the table, time to play with friends and for boys to develop confidence in their own abilities. Boys learn skills and habits, values and standards, which stay with them for the rest of their lives. All boys are challenged and made to feel proud of their achievements, whatever those achievements are.
