Bow was founded in 1885 as an independent day school for boys aged 3 to 13, and moved to its present site in 1888. In 1976 the school was incorporated into the Durham School Foundation and formally became the Preparatory School for Durham School. From 2006 girls were admitted for the first time, making Durham School a fully co-educational Independent school for ages 3 to 18 years.
It is set in its own beautiful grounds on the edge of Durham City, overlooking the magnificent and world-famous Cathedral.Further information on Boarding Schools »
