A new beginning: a rich heritage. Bedford Girls' School is a new independent day school for girls aged 7-18. Formed by the merger of two distinct and respected schools, Dame Alice Harpur School and Bedford High School for Girls, its new beginnings build firmly upon the long and rich heritage of the two schools that first opened their doors in 1882. Today it is our ambition that Bedford Girls' School will be an exceptional girls' school - continuing this long tradition of commitment to the education of young women.
