Aysgarth is home to a close and thriving community of children and staff. Our goal is to find and develop the best in every child by providing a caring, stimulating and comfortable environment.
Aysgarth Prep School was founded in 1877 as a boarding school to prepare boys to go on to public schools all over the country. This is still what we are today.
We believe strongly in the value of boarding as a means of developing a boy in every respect - to be happy, confident, courteous, independent and ambitious. Employers today look for these characteristics as well as the academic excellence that we provide. Charitable Status Chris Woodhead, Chairman of Cognita, has said that parents paying to privately educate their children are being ripped off as UK independent schools waste money on "frills and frippery". He also urged schools to give up their charitable status to become wholly profitmaking organisations. What do you think? |
