Arbor Preparatory, one of the longest established Montessori schools in the country, is dedicated to providing both a stimulating environment in which to learn and exceptional pastoral care. Combined with the family feel that runs throughout the school, Arbor provides the perfect platform for nurturing young children; enabling them to grow into inspired, independent and inquisitive individuals.
Headed by the school's original founder, Wendy Compson, Arbor uses the guiding Montessori principles, throughout the school. Subjects are brought to life and experienced, resulting in not only an exciting day at school but also a deeper understanding of the subjects covered. And there are many subjects to cover, as the breadth of the curriculum means a rich and diverse range of areas and topics are covered every day.
Classes are small, meaning children can perform at the speed that is best suited to them, offering a very individual approach for every child. Individual targets are set, ensuring each child can fulfil his or her own potential. Pupils are encouraged to work independently using every resource available to them.
Arbor children enter a broad range of schools at the end of Upper Prep. With 100% success rates in entrance exams and many scholarships awarded for academic, sports and the arts, pupils leave Arbor fully prepared and confident in their ability to continue their educational journey in the school of their choice.
