Belleview Christian School Philosophy: Academics and the development of the student's personal relationship with Jesus Christ are our highest priorities at Belleview. We partner with parents, to educate and model high standards for Christian living in order to accomplish the goals we have for every graduating student. The distinctives of our program are best highlighted in the areas of spiritual development, academic achievement, development within the arts, and athletic competition and student activities.

Spiritual Development
"Learning...to please Him!" Colossians 1:10 is Belleview's theme verse. We strive to help students learn to make choices that please Jesus Christ in academics, on the playground, in competition, in the family, and in the world. We believe it is our responsibility as educators to model and teach the biblical lifestyle.

Spiritual Emphasis: Everyone at Belleview is employed with a common purpose - to provide the best in education while helping students develop and grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a result, Belleview offers many opportunities for spiritual growth. Our favorites include:

Spiritual Life Retreat: Every secondary student enrolled at Belleview participates in a retreat designed to build relationships with other students and faculty while encouraging them to grow deeper with Jesus Christ. The retreat is most definitely a highlight of every student's memory at Belleview.

Belleview Ministry Opportunities: Students are taught biblical principles daily in the classroom and in weekly chapel services. Belleview ministry opportunities allow students to put these principles and service to the Lord into action. The purpose is to teach all students the value of serving one another and to be a blessing to others.

Academic Achievement
Educational Goals: Our goals are to challenge students to honor the Lord and their parents with academic excellence and to graduate students who will live for Christ and who can articulately defend their faith in a compromising world.

Curriculum: Belleview Christian School is a college preparatory school. We strive to incorporate the best curriculum possible for each subject area taught in order to prepare students for higher levels of education. The curriculum includes Bob Jones, A Beka, Saxon Mathematics, Positive Action, Summit Ministries, Modern Curriculum, ACSI, Merrill, Prentice Hall, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, McGraw-Hill and Junior Achievement.

Advanced Placement & Honors Courses Offered: Secondary students have opportunity for advanced placement classes in Math, Science, English, Art, Music, History and Bible.

Stanford Achievement Test Results: Students from K-11th grades are tested every year to determine if academic standards are being met. Students routinely score a grade and half above the national norm every year. In addition, 10th graders take the PLAN and 11th graders take the PSAT exams.

ACT & SAT Results: The average score for seniors taking the ACT is 23.01. This includes scores from high school students who transfer into Belleview. Typical SAT composite scores average 1114.

Diplomas Offered: Belleview offers a College Preparatory, Academic, Liberal Arts or General Diploma.

College Scholarships & Awards Earned: Belleview students have earned full ride and academic scholarships to schools such as Colorado Christian University, Colorado State University, and Colorado School of Mines. Students have earned numerous academic scholarships including scholarships for mathematics and science. Many students have also been awarded the prestigious Horatio Alger Scholarship.

Childcare & Preschool Program: The early education program includes Childcare (2½ to young 3's), Pre-school (older 3's to young 4's), Pre-Kindergarten (must be 4 by the first day of school), Kindergarten (must be 5 by the first day of school), and First Grade. Each program gradually phases in more structure, creating a stimulating and joyful learning atmosphere while remaining age-appropriate. The primary focus is language arts and mathematics using A Beka and Bob Jones curriculum. We believe that a solid foundation in these areas will produce successful students as they continue in elementary and secondary academic pursuits.

Accelerated Reading: This computer-based program is designed for our elementary students to encourage reading and to improve upon their comprehension skills. We believe that reading and comprehension are critical to every student's success in all other academic applications. The AR program has shown dramatic results by improving students' reading comprehension by an average of a grade and a half.

Communication: Belleview values and encourages a partnership with parents, working together for each student's academic success. Parents can keep in communication with teachers and stay informed about their child's homework, grades, attendance and many other features at www.belleviewchristian.com.

Arts
Fine Arts Program: Belleview Christian School values art, music and drama as they bring opportunity to teach students the importance of worshiping God. The fine arts program also encourages students to share their talent through competition and performance. We are proud to have given students opportunity to participate in our annual school plays including performances of The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Special Events: Throughout the year, Belleview invites parents to participate in a variety of special events designed to highlight student talents and achievements. Events include Student Shine Nights, Grandparents' Day, Christmas Programs, Kindergarten Graduation, Spelling Bees, Speech Meets, Math Olympics and more.

Technology: Belleview students have access to a filtered broadband internet service and are given opportunity to learn some of the latest software applications and technological advances available. Elementary students learn proper keyboarding techniques along with introductory software while secondary students have access to more advanced computer courses including video production. And, for your convenience, all of our teachers have access to email for enhanced communication.

Athletic Competition & Student Activities
Secondary Athletics: Students can compete in athletic activities while learning good sportsmanship from a biblical perspective. Sports at Belleview include volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, and cheerleading and we are a member in good standing with the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).

Elementary Athletics: With the help of volunteer parents willing to coach our teams, we offer opportunities to participate in soccer, basketball and football in cooperation with the Hyland Hills and Westminster recreation leagues.

Student Activities: We are proud to offer activities for students to develop leadership skills. Belleview offers opportunities to participate on the yearbook staff, in the honor society, and student council.
